Camerawork blog task

 Blog tasks:

1) Pick three camera shots from the Doctor Who scene and explain what type of shot it is and what meanings or effect they have on the audience.
1.In second-0:30 they put the actors face close up (CU) which allows the audience to see their emotional reaction and in this clip she is frustrated and felt left out. The director may have put the close up to show her facial expressions, and how she feels. This gives the viewers a clearer view of the character and their facial expressions as well as small detail that you might not be able to see from a far.

2.In the second 0:53 they show the actors surroundings and the setting. It is shown to be a long shot which shows a lot of the background. This also gives the onlookers a wider perspective of the environment and shows us anything he director might want us to see and notice.

3.In second 0:23 there is a 2 shot which shows two of the actors and in the clip it is a medium close up. This allows you to see both characters together. It is a very important aspect and detail as two shots are often used for action, romance or tension and in this case it could be a mix of action and tension. The shot is often used to show the emotional reaction between the two characters.

2) Pick one camera angle that is used in the scene and explain the effect it has on the audience.

One camera angle is medium close up shot which portrays what is going on and in the clip the background has two computers with coding and things on it which shows maybe what's going on and the situation.

The second camera angle is a abnormal perspective as the cameras was placed a certain way to show us a different angle that is uncommon and in this case it was behind the woman which showed all the computers with coding on it which can show us that they are maybe in danger and need to sort something out.

3) Pick one aspect of mise-en-scene from the scene and explain what connotations are being communicated to the audience.

One aspect is the setting of the clip which in minute 3:13 there are multiple computers and the actor typing which makes the scene look more rushed and makes the audience think that something is happening that they needs to solve or fix. This makes us think something is happening that could change a lot and surprise the viewers in anyway and makes us feel suspense to know what will happen next.
